Visa application process

Step-by-step checklist for completing the Antigua & Barbuda eVISA or consular visa application.

Before you apply

  • Cruise passengers: Travellers arriving and departing the same day by cruise ship do not require a visa.
  • Same-day transit: Passengers remaining airside for less than 24 hours while holding confirmed onward tickets may transit without a visa.

Documents to prepare for the eVISA portal

  • Valid passport bio page (minimum six months validity).
  • Recent colour passport photograph (45 mm x 35 mm) on a plain white background.
  • Proof of travel: confirmed ticket or itinerary showing arrival and departure.
  • Proof of accommodation (hotel booking, host invitation, or cruise itinerary).
  • Evidence of sufficient funds—recent bank statements or employer letter.
  • Police certificate and birth certificate where requested.
  • Immigration status for any country in which you are resident (e.g., visa or residence permit).

Scanning and upload tips

  • Scan documents in full colour directly from the original. Photocopies and low-resolution photos are not accepted.
  • Preview each scan to ensure all information is legible before uploading.
  • Name files clearly so they are easy to match with the checklist items.

After submission

  • Monitor your email inbox and spam folder for status updates or additional document requests.
  • Use the eVISA portal to add co-travellers, make edits, and download your approved visa.
  • Print a copy of the approval notice to present at the border together with your passport.
